Swimming lakes in our region

Even if the summer in the mountains shows its best you can enjoy nice walks in shadowy valleys between typical huts to just relax and enjoy a magnificent panorama around. And a special refreshment is offered by plenty natural lakes in the surrounding. Impressive views in the middle of green woods and fields under a deep blue sky promise a perfect day of holiday!

Tyrol is well known for its plenty hiking & biking possibilities but also a number of lakes offer a rapid recreation during your active program. Ideally to cool down your legs or to spend a whole day nearby the water. In addition to swimming in the lake are plenty of other possibilities like picturesque walks around, pedal-boats but also new trend sports like stand-up-paddling are making the lakes especially attractive.

The swimming lakes next to the plenty other activities for your leisure time
offer exactly the variety you were looking for for your well deserved holidays!

Lake “Möserer See”

The Lake “Möserer See” is only about 15 minutes by walk from the hotel, just above the village of Mösern – in idyllic lonliness in the middle of woods. The lake is situated on 1.292m above sea level and up to 11m deep in the middle of a nature protected area, where you find alproses near the shore and it’s also a hatchery for various waterfowl. But nevertheless swimming is allowed and it’s even one of the warmest natural lakes in Tyrol. A walk around the lake takes about 45 minutes and the hut “Möserer Seestub’n” offers a refreshment in between!

Lake “Lottensee”

The lake “Lottensee” is located ca. 45 minutes by walk from the hotel, but also to reach by car. Together with the lake “Wildmoossee”, which is just behind the Lottensee they represent a unique natural phenomenon in our region. They appear out of a nothing and not regularly that’s why they call it a a-periodic natural phenomenon. It is probably the result of a combination of water levels in the underground karsts systems, the spring rains and the spring thaw. But sometimes even after the thaw the water level continues to rise, but then suddenly they disappear in autumn. So we cannot guarantee that it will definitely be there during your holidays!

The lake “Wildsee” in Seefeld gave most probably the settlement “Sevelt” (=Feld am See – field at the lake) in the year 1022 its name. Also today the lake contributes to the beauty of the high plateau of Seefeld and is with its two beach & bathing facilities a very popular swimming lake in our region. But also the surrounding of the Wildsee represents a attractive sight in the region. Smooth paths invite to an easy and comfortable walk around – approx. 1 H. Enjoy the nature around and you will spot plenty small guests in the forest!
